As the founder and managing attorney of Mahover Law, PLLC, Elise Mahover focuses her practice on estate planning, trusts, probate and estate administration, and family and business succession planning.
Ms. Mahover works closely with individuals, families, fiduciaries, and business owners to develop thoughtful legal strategies that reflect their unique circumstances and long-term goals. Her practice includes planning for a wide range of family dynamics, including traditional and blended families, second marriages, unmarried couples, LGBTQ+ families, individuals without children, and families seeking to preserve and transition assets or business interests to the next generation.
In addition to estate planning, Ms. Mahover represents executors, administrators, beneficiaries, and families throughout the probate and estate administration process, providing practical guidance through the legal and administrative responsibilities that follow the death of a loved one.
Before founding Mahover Law in 2021, Ms. Mahover practiced at Ingerman Smith LLP, a Westchester County law firm, where her work included contract review, administrative proceedings, procurement matters, and employment-related issues. Prior to becoming an attorney, she spent more than nine years working as a paralegal with solo practitioners in Westchester County, giving her extensive practical experience in the day-to-day management of legal matters and client relationships.
Ms. Mahover founded her firm with a commitment to providing personalized, practical, and transparent legal counsel. She takes the time to understand each client’s family, assets, concerns, and objectives so that the legal plan reflects the realities of their life rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
Ms. Mahover earned her Juris Doctor from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and an Associate degree in Paralegal Studies from Berkeley College.
She is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey.
